Take a Class
Hope offers many classes to help you grow in your faith and get connected to others. We recommend trying out Alpha when it’s offered as well!

Meet with a Pastor
If you’re looking to get big faith questions answered, get to know our church more, or simply want to have a familiar and friendly face around Hope Ankeny, we invite you to meet with one of our pastors!
What’s Happening at Hope Ankeny?

Lots of people have lots of opinions about Jesus, sometimes shaped more by personal preferences, worldviews, and traditions than the actual Messiah revealed in Scripture. At Lutheran Church of Hope, we want everyone to meet, and get to know at the deepest levels, the Jesus of the Gospels: the One who heals, comforts, challenges, restores, surprises, and has the power to transform us and our world!
That’s why our 2026 annual theme at Hope is:
Jesus for Real: One Year. Four Gospels. Infinite Hope!

Sundays, Jan. 18 – March 15, 12:30-2:30 pm
The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner during thought-provoking weekly sessions. Each week, participants (age 18+) meet for a meal and large group talk followed by small group discussion. The course includes the Alpha Day Away, where many local Alpha Courses gather for a fun day of teachings, and discussion about the Holy Spirit on Feb. 28.

Feb. 7 & 8
Let’s fill the shelves of all our local food pantries! Bring non-perishable food items like canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, sauce, peanut butter, and cereal to our worship services the weekend of the big game. Hygiene products are also needed, such as diapers, feminine hygiene products, toiletries, etc. We’ll then have teams to sort, box, and deliver so our neighbors have plenty of food after a busy holiday season.

Mondays, Feb. 2-16, 6:30-8:00 pm
How can we truly serve those we encounter across cultures and communities with the mind of Christ? Join us as we delve into “Helping Without Hurting” videos, Scripture, and group activities to discover what it means to be a “mission-minded” body wherever we are called to serve. Whether you are interested in a local or international mission trip or serving locally, join us for this three-session class.
